After one week on the big island I discovered that life should be enjoyed to the fullest of our abilities. This past week I have not only found true respect for the ocean but for the massive power of nature. The big island of Hawaii is truly amazing place to experience and I will return next year for another adventure in paradise. If anyone is interested start from Hilo and drive south to Volcanoes National Park. Stay in the free camping three miles south of the park and get up early and drive to the crater for a array of color coming off the steam. Also, if you hike and your muscles become sore drive down to Puna hot pools to ease the pain.

Found out today that I am not going to GITMO, that is a good feeling indeed. Now, time to ready oneself to the pleasures of Hawaii.

Hot Times

Today is my last day of work for one week. For the next week Jen and I will be climbing the largest shield vol canoe in the world. Also, I should find out if I will be getting deployed to GITMO later next month.
